Welcome! We are thrilled to introduce you to a new way of thinking about health and healthy living. In September 2014, Asian Media Access (AMA) was one of forty-nine organizations that was awarded the Racial and Ethnic Approach to Community Health (R.E.A.C.H.) grant that looked at health disparities. This grant allows us to focus on the North Minneapolis community.
From this grant birthed the Bi-Cultural Active Living Lifestyle (B.A.L.L.) concept to approaching one’s health. Bicultural Healthy Living is the ability of immigrants and refugees to bridge two cultures, the American mainstream culture and their culture of origin, into one that allows them to live healthfully and happily. AMA is currently collaborating with Pathway Learning Center, Somali Community Resettlement Services, RadioASIA, and Pan Asian Arts Alliance.
