The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is kicking off National Prevention Week 2015 on May 18th from 10:00 a.m.-11:15 a.m. EDT with a live Kick-Off Event at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, and a simultaneous digital activity—#ChoosePrevention. We invite everyone to participate in the national kick-off by:
1) Attending the in-person event (if local to the DC area); and
2) Taking and sharing photos showing how you maintain a healthy lifestyle and what inspires you to choose prevention (see sample images below).
Share #ChoosePrevention photos prior to or during the Kick-Off Event on May 18th via Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #ChoosePrevention or by e-mail to NPW@samhsa.hhs.gov. Submitted and shared photos will be showcased at the live Kick-Off Event, via social media, and on SAMHSA’s National Prevention Week website.
Be creative and inspire others with photos showing the power of prevention!
If you are not able to participate in the #ChoosePrevention activity prior to or during the May 18th kick-off, the “I Choose” Project is another great, year-round way to show your support for National Prevention Week visually!
